About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing psychotherapy and counseling services to adults, couples, adolescents and families in San Diego.  I specialize in relationship counseling as well as in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties.  I have worked with adults and children of all ages from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.

In addition to maintaining a private practice in San Diego, I have over ten years of experience providing therapeutic support to clients coping with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, domestic violence, and life transitions.  I received my education and training in Massachusetts before moving to California eight years ago.  I received a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Early Childhood Development from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. as well as an M.A. in Social Work from Simmons College in Boston, Mass.  I completed my graduate training at Boston’s McLean Hospital in the adult inpatient psychiatry dual-diagnosis program.  My experience also includes providing therapy for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems at Hathaway Children and Family Services in Sylmar, CA.  At Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, I provided counseling services and crisis intervention to individuals and couples in the outpatient psychiatry clinic.  Additionally, I am trained in EMDR to help people heal from trauma and a range of other experiences.

My Focus

I enjoy working with individuals and couples to help them achieve more satisfying and productive lives at home, school, work and in their interpersonal relationships.  In working with clients I also draw from my own life experience and practice of meditation and mindfulness.  I am very familiar with the demands and stresses that many people experience and strive to help people balance their home, family, friendships, and work expectations.
